Halloween is back, but the monsters are masked
Halloween is easily the most mask-compatible holiday of the year. The costume possibilities are limitless: Think scenes or characters from “Scream,” the “Friday the 13th” franchise, “Squid Game” … even the Bernie Sanders mitten meme. Now, haunted houses—back with a vengeance after a quiet 2020—have joined the fun, CNN reports. At Universal Studios, a masked Bride of Frankenstein drains vampires of their blood as they thrash around in cages under a strobe light. And at the historic site that was once Pennsylvania Eastern State Penitentiary, masked guests can enjoy drinks from undead lounge singers in Al Capone’s former cell. Dr. Fauci (tentatively) approves.
