On the frontlines of Covid-19, grocery cashiers get sneeze guards
As the country shuts down, everyone still goes grocery shopping—and cashiers are in the thick of the pandemic, exempt from the social distancing much of the country faces. Now comes word that they’re getting their own PPE—sneeze guards, which are protective plexiglass barriers at the cash registers. It’s not six feet of distance—try two—but it does catch those respiratory droplets. (Yuck.) KRON reports the barriers are going up at Krogers, Albertsons, and Walmarts across the country.
