Considering going out to eat soon? Watch this “viral” video first.

As some states begin to allow restaurants to open their dining rooms, the possibility for the virus to spread remains massive. A recent viral (so to speak) video in Japan shows just how easily the coronavirus can spread. Using black light and a fluorescent substance, the public broadcaster NHK teamed up with disease specialists to simulate the spread of germs in a restaurant setting, The Guardian reports. When the black light was turned on, Covid-19 germs can be seen smeared across plates, food, utensils, and even on the faces of some guests. In a second experiment, the same environment was used to show the benefits of improved hygiene, where guests washed their hands before and during the meal.
