British supermarket chain launched a chicken nugget into space
British supermarket chain Iceland Foods celebrated its 50th anniversary last week in rare form: It launched a chicken nugget into space. Business Insider reports that the nugget reached an altitude of 110,000 feet, 20.7 miles, or for those of you who measure your distance the correct way: 888,000 Iceland chicken nuggets. The nugget floated for an hour then shot back down to earth where its parachute opened 12 miles before it hit the ground. The chicken nugget made its way up with help from Sent Into Space (a British marketing company that exists) which filmed the entire journey. Perhaps for Iceland Foods’ 100th anniversary they’ll send an entire burger.
