Brazilian beef companies ready to cover U.S. meat shortfalls

The world’s biggest meat company, JBS SA, said they are prepared to cover any American beef shortfalls, Bloomberg reports. The Brazilian company would scale up exports from their Australia units which can ship beef to the U.S. Another South American beef exporter, Minerva SA, also claims it is prepared to meet U.S. demand with its eight plants. The U.S. reopened the market for Brazilian beef back in February after suspending purchases in 2017 due to safety concerns. JBS shares have jumped 18 percent this month.
