McDonald’s sues former CEO over alleged affairs with employees

The nasty breakup between McDonald’s and former CEO Steve Easterbrook burst into public view on Monday after the company sued the ex-exec for tens of millions of dollars in severance and benefits, alleging he’d lied about having affairs with multiple employees. The Wall Street Journal reports that Easterbook allegedly received dozens of sexually explicit photos at his corporate email address, then forwarded them to his personal Hotmail account and deleted them from his company phone. McDonald’s fired Easterbook without cause in November 2019 after finding that he had engaged in a consensual, short-term relationship with an employee. The additional affairs, the company claims, prove that Easterbook violated its standards and should therefore pay back his severance.
