Influencers are flocking to the American Girl Cafe, dolls in tow

The American Girl Cafe in Manhattan has become a destination for nostalgic influencers, The New York Times reports. At this purported “Disneyland for literary girls and gays,” American Girl dolls can dine alongside their real human families, clipped to the table in little pink chairs. Among the offerings (for dolls): $20 hairdos, fresh outfits, and S.T.I. tests upon request. Humans can sip pink martinis (at $14, possibly the cheapest in Midtown) and stroll down memory lane. Never got your own Samantha, Addy, or Felicity? You can borrow one for the evening. Just don’t let her share your cocktail. A spokesperson for American Girl told the Times it doesn’t condone its dolls engaging in age-inappropriate behavior. —H. Claire Brown
