FDA Commissioner fires top spokesperson after 2 weeks on the job

FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn fired his top spokesperson, Emily Miller, after only two weeks on the job. Miller is a Trump appointee and former reporter for far-right One America News. Miller had no prior medical or science experience and longtime FDA officials believed her reputation as a gun rights advocate clashed with the agency’s public health mission, Politico reports. It remains unclear whether Miller will leave the administration altogether, though the FDA did move quickly to remove her name and photo from the agency’s Twitter account.
