Customers enact violence on workers over social distancing and mask rules
Precautions like social distancing and mask wearing are supposed to keep individuals and communities safer during pandemic. But in a couple instances this past week, disagreements over Covid-19 protections have turned violent. Yesterday, two customers reportedly shot and injured workers in an Oklahoma City McDonald’s, according to NBC News. Local police said that they were upset at getting turned away from the seating area, which was closed due to distancing guidelines. Then, last Friday, in Flint, Michigan, a man allegedly shot and killed a Family Dollar security guard after a family member was refused entry without a mask, CNN reports. Tragedy on top of ongoing tragedy.
