In Texas, blackouts cause widespread food supply disruptions
Last week’s power outages caused major food supply disruptions across Texas, Bloomberg reports. Restaurants threw out spoiled ingredients as grocery stores scrambled to impose temporary purchasing restrictions on items like milk and eggs. And then came the water issues: low pressure, boil-water notices, dry taps. Texans reported driving around all day looking for hot food as their homes remained powerless. As of Monday, a third of state residents still had lingering water supply issues.
