What it’s like to be a chef in the NBA bubble

Since July, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, has hosted the NBA bubble—a Covid-19-free zone for pro basketball teams, where everyone inside submits to strict quarantines and daily tests. And it is strict: A player who stepped outside to pick up a delivery of chicken wings was confined to isolation and barred from playing for two weeks. So if you can’t make any contact with the outside world, then how, exactly, is everyone able to eat? Business Insider follows an NBA chef as she plays zone defense against the coronavirus, getting shuttled from one disease-free space to another to make 4,000 meals a week. Getting the food to the players, though, is man-to-man—a relay race of food runners handing off Saran-wrapped meals.
