Washington state to partner with Starbucks for Covid-19 vaccinations
Washington state Governor Jay Inslee announced on Monday that the statewide Covid-19 vaccine distribution plan will include a partnership with Starbucks. The coffee chain will be tasked with operational efficiency and design expertise, Nation’s Restaurant News reports. Microsoft, Costco, and the National Guard will also help the state reach its distribution goal of 45,000 vaccinations daily. Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson said the company will have 11 employees with expertise in labor, deployment operations, and research and development optimize the distribution efforts. The CDC confirmed that 31,581 people in Washington have received both doses of the vaccine, just under 0.5 percent of the total population.
