U.K. Burger King is calling on customers to buy from McDonald’s during the pandemic

In the U.K., Burger King is calling on its customers to order from rival fast-food chain McDonald’s and several other competing businesses. In a statement on Monday, the company tweeted a letter headlined, “Order From McDonald’s,” urging customers to support all fast-food restaurants during the pandemic, CNN Business reports. “Getting a Whopper is always best, but ordering a Big Mac is also not such a bad thing,” read the statement. The U.K.’s hospitality industry has been hit hard by the pandemic and is likely to see another wave of economic uncertainty as new restrictions will prohibit all dining except for takeout or delivery.
