Alice Waters is opening a restaurant in Los Angeles—her first new establishment in decades
Alice Waters has been making waves recently with the release of her new book, a critical look at the U.S. food system and our obsession with fast food. Now, Eater reports that the legendary chef is planning to open a new restaurant in Los Angeles this fall—her first new eatery in decades. The space will be located at the Hammer Museum and will “highlight wholesome foods sourced from local farms dedicated to responsible and regenerative farming practices.” It’s classic Waters: Her Berkeley restaurant, Chez Panisse, will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year and continues to highlight seasonal, locally grown ingredients (don’t even think of asking Waters if she’s eaten a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto—she’s never heard of it).
