Union files challenges to Amazon vote in Alabama, claiming the online retailer interfered with the election.
As promised, the Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union (RWDSU) has challenged the results of the union vote at an Amazon facility in Bessemer, Alabama, The Wall Street Journal reports. Employees voted overwhelmingly against unionizing earlier this month. RWDSU alleges the election was unfair because Amazon intimidated and threatened employees by holding anti-union meetings, among other claims. The Nation has a great postmortem on the uphill battle the union faced—and the mistakes it made throughout the campaign.
