This news is tempered by the news that the company’s main rideshare business is tanking—Uber just disclosed it will be cutting 14 percent of its global workforce. Meanwhile, New York City Council nears a vote which would cap commissions at 10 percent for delivery platforms like DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats.
