States order liquor stores to stop selling Russian vodka
States are ordering liquor stores to pull Russian vodka off of shelves, in protest against its assault against Ukraine. But just what could such directives achieve? Instead, the most popular brands of the liquor are produced domestically or sourced from other parts of Europe. Still, one industry consultant told the paper that consumers are expected to scrutinize their vodka sourcing a lot more in the coming months as a symbolic gesture against the invasion. —Jessica Fu
