Rosa Amanda Tuirán

Rosa Amanda Tuirán is a Mexican documentary filmmaker, photographer and investigative reporter based in the Bay Area. Tuirán received her Master of Journalism from UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in May 2020. She worked as a News Video Fellow at BuzzFeed News in New York City and was a National Association of Hispanic Journalists Fellow at CBS News in 2019. Tuirán was part of the COVID-19 reporting project with the Investigative Reporting Program and The New York Times to help meet the need for comprehensive reporting on how the Covid-19 crisis is affecting California. She recently worked as an Associate Producer for a PBS Frontline film about how Covid-19 affected farmworker communities and is now an Associate Producer for an upcoming PBS NOVA documentary on the science of cannabis. Her work covers issues related to immigration, women empowerment, climate change, ocean conservation and racial justice.
