Reana Kovalcik

Reana Kovalcik is the Associate Director for Communications and Development at the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC). She grew up in Chicago, where she developed a passion for all things food (including how to properly dress a hot dog), and later moved to NYC to pursue a graduate degree in Urban Policy Analysis and Management at the New School for Public Engagement. While in NYC –of all places–, Reana became more intimately connected with agriculture and rural communities. There she worked on school food and nutrition issues, and also served as Legislative Aide for Food Policy for Council Member Gale Brewer, with whom she helped develop and subsequently pass NYC’s first local food sourcing legislation in 2011. Reana now lives and works in Washington D.C.
