Starbucks barista tests positive for coronavirus

Last week, Starbucks leadership announced a mandate to all of its 14,000 U.S. locations that high-traffic areas should be cleaned every eight minutes and that licensees would temporarily suspend the option of refilling personal cups in order to minimize any transmission risk. Yet on Friday, one of its Seattle-based baristas tested positive for coronavirus, a bad omen of things to come, as office workers are encouraged to stay home for the sake of their health. “Consumers could potentially cocoon themselves in their homes and look for eating solutions that will not expose them to unnecessary social interactions,” a new Technomic report said, based on the company’s recent COVID-19 survey.
