Newly-elected New York City Mayor Eric Adams tweeted last week that he will nix vaccine requirements for indoor dining, fitness, and entertainment venues on March 7, if Covid-19 numbers continue to dwindle. Though some restaurants may still voluntarily require patrons to show proof of vaccination, a government-mandated barrier to entry for unvaccinated indoor diners is officially kaput, reports Grub Street. Another policy on its way out: outdoor dining sheds, much loved by some for their creative circumvention of pandemic-enforced restrictions, and hated by others for their ever-encroaching presence on already crowded city streets. —Safiya Charles
