Grocery retailers can sell unlabeled eggs during the pandemic

Last week, the Food and Drug Administration ruled that retailers will temporarily be able to disregard regulations that required eggs to be sold with labels of where they came from, proper handling information, and nutritional data. Moving forward, retailers can use display cards to relay the information, which means eggs in bulk can be sold in unlabeled cartons. FDA says that while there continues to be an adequate egg supply, properly labeled packaging has fallen behind, keeping eggs out of grocery stores even when they are ready to go.
