Anthony Bourdain’s big plans for an international food market in New York City fell apart in 2017, amid real-estate problems and challenges getting visas for dozens of foreign vendors. Bourdain fans who were eagerly awaiting the chance to try authentic Hainanese chicken rice without traveling to Singapore may still get their chance, though. The team behind the project has announced new plans for the marketplace, writes Eater. Though the latest plans are scaled down a bit, it will feature 18 Singaporean vendors in Midtown, not far from Times Square. The market is expected to open in 2022.
