Study finds artificial sweetener sucralose may lead to weight gain

A new study conducted by researchers at Yale found that ingesting the common artificial sweetener sucralose, when combined with carbohydrates, can lead to high blood sugar even for otherwise healthy people. The common sugar substitute can be found in baked goods, condiments, syrups, and other packaged goods—most of them containing carbohydrates. The researchers also discovered those who consumed seven beverages with the sweetener over two weeks developed glucose intolerance. The Washington Post has more.
