Starbucks now offers some mental health benefits

Starbucks, the Seattle-based coffee chain, is offering employees 20 therapy sessions a year. Well, not exactly. Fast Company reports the chain is offering workers at corporate-owned stores the opportunity to work with a company called Lyra Health that helps people find therapists. If the workers can’t afford to pay for those therapists, then they can have sessions with “coaches,” who don’t sound like mental health professionals. Starbucks, it should be said, has been offering health insurance options to full- and part-time employees for years now. But does their coverage actually covers therapy? Unclear. If you work at Starbucks, don’t hesitate to tell us how this is going for you.
