Halloween-themed marshmallow enthusiasts are in for a letdown this year as Peeps have halted production until 2021. Just Born Quality Confections, the company behind the puffy delicacies—as well as Mike and Ikes and Hot Tamales—was forced to install new safety protocols for employees in the wake of Covid-19, which resulted in a more streamlined, limited production line, PennLive reports. “This situation resulted in us having to make the difficult decision to forego production of our seasonal candies for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day in order to focus on meeting the expected overwhelming demand for Peeps for next Easter season, as well as our everyday candies,” read a statement from the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania-based operator. Until then, we can continue debating the virtues of candy corn.
