Kraft has removed all advertisements from a #SendNoods campaign after facing social media criticism over the sexually suggestive nature of the content. The outcry came from an unofficial cohort described by Marketing Dive as “average moms,” who worried about the provocative ads’ proximity to children. But QAnon conspiracists piled on, connecting the campaign to its belief in a deep-state-led child trafficking ring that they say is being single-handedly dismantled by President Trump. Kraft’s campaign, which launched last week around National Noodle Day, was intended to provide comfort and connection during the pandemic by encouraging consumers to “send noods” to each other. (It’s cool if you have to Google the reference.) But now, if you want to send noods, they can’t be covered in cheese powder.
