The Food Network has distanced itself from Josh Denny, a former show host on the cable network, stating on Twitter that it has “removed” episodes he hosted, and “regrets giving him a platform,” reports Deadline. Denny, a stand-up comedian and podcaster, tweeted several comments about Texas’ new anti-abortion law earlier this month, including one that used a sexist slur to describe women. Before he was known for his “edgy” (read: inappropriate) Twitter comments, Denny hosted “Ginormous Food,” which ran for 24 episodes starting in 2017. The show featured Denny highlighting enormous dishes at restaurants around the United States. Denny did not take the comment in stride: “If you regret having ever given me a platform, how about you send me a check for the 10’s of millions of dollars my show made for your network(s)?” he tweeted in response to the Food Network’s statement.
