Earlier this week, Burger King unveiled a new Whopper patty made from cows on a special diet of 100 grams of lemongrass a day, CNBC reports. The fast food company worked with scientists from the Autonomous University at the State of Mexico and the University of California, Davis, to formulate this new diet, which will cut their livestock’s methane emissions by a third. The new burger will be available only in select locations in the U.S. along the east and west coasts. Burger King’s move is part of a trend of action taken to fight climate change by big companies, but is ultimately an insufficient solution. According to Bloomberg, the best way to truly reduce methane emissions is to cut out meat altogether. (Remember the Impossible Whopper?)
