Black farmers boycott John Deere

The National Black Farmers Association called for its members to boycott John Deere’s farming equipment. The organization says the tractor company has refused to display equipment at their annual convention, despite being invited year after year, and instead displays at predominantly white farm shows. The nonprofit has 116,00 members in 42 states. Ag Daily reports that the boycott comes after years of friction between John Deere and the association, since it was founded in 1995. NBFA says it’s on the lookout for different farm-equipment manufacturers that value black farmers.
